Essay & Interview Group Classes
About Classes & Workshops
Bespoke’s essay and interview classes allow students to take advantage of the workshop model as they progress through their college journey. This model encourages them to meet deadlines, collaborate with peers and instructors, and improve their writing and communication skills in a supportive environment.
Essay Workshops
Students engaged in crafting their college essay benefit from the same methods used by the best writers in the world: writing workshops. Our groups are intimate – capped at 8 students per section – and effective. Students complete a draft of their personal statement quickly and easily with a balance of work in class and homework between each session.
The course guides students through brainstorming, outlining, and multiple rounds of editing. Students may choose to share work with others, or not, depending on comfort level.
What you get:
- An intimate, small-group environment (capped at 8 students per section).
- Curriculum tailored to create a draft in just four 1.5-hour sessions.
- Individualized written feedback on every homework assignment and unlimited email contact with the instructor.
- A bonus one-on-one meeting after the end of class for final guidance and advice.
Testimonials from students:
“I just wanted to let you know that I’ve been accepted into both Brown University and the University of Pennsylvania! I wanted to thank you so much for helping me throughout this process, especially with your writing class, and I’ve really appreciated the writing skills that I’ve learned while having you as a mentor.”
– Bespoke student now attending Brown University

“Last summer, I took your personal statement essay writing class, and because of it, I was able to craft a well-written essay that really made my character shine through […]. I couldn’t have done this without your help – I usually write very long essays in school, so your tips on concise writing and cutting down were extremely helpful when writing both my personal statement and later college supplementals. My personal statement received praise from other students, family, and English teachers at my school, and I didn’t feel the urge to alter it after your class.”

Interview Classes
Stage fright? Worried about how your student will perform in a live interview? Interview classes allow students to support each other, practice collaboratively, and reach shared goals.
Our structured series of three classes culminate in a final mock interview in front of an audience.
What you get:
- One session focuses on researching target schools.
- Another allows students to work collaboratively on public speaking and self-presentation.
- A final session of mock interviews puts their skills to the test in class.
- A bonus mock interview with a real alum from their target school at the end of the class.
Testimonials from parents:
“Jon came out of the interview feeling good about it! I heard his very animated voice coming from his room during the interview. His tone was relaxed and confident without sounding braggy.”
